Nous sommes profondément attristés par la nouvelle du décès de Rakotoarisoa Henri, président de la VOI MIALO. Nous présentons nos condoléances à la famille du défunt, ses proches, amis et collègues dans ce moment douloureux.Rakotoarisoa Henri, fervent défenseur de l'environnement a été assassiné dans la nuit du 2 au 3 juin à Antsampandrano, Fokontany Ankazondandy, Commune Ambanivohitra Mangarivotra (ex Beparasy). Depuis deux ans, il a été bénévole et lanceur d'alertes sur les pressions exercées à Ankazondandy : allant de l'exploitation illicite de bois précieux à la déforestation. Les lanceurs d'alerte sont souvent victimes de représailles, de menaces et d’intimidations en tout genre. Nous osons espérer que l’enquête concernant ce meurtre sera mener à bon terme et que justice soit faite, dans le strict respect de la loi.
Reposez en paix Monsieur Rakotoarisoa Henri. Que votre mort ne soit pas vaine, que les efforts de conservation continuent pour la biodiversité de notre pays et que nos politiques se penchent sérieusement sur le cas des personnes œuvrant cœurs et âmes à la protection de nos ressources naturelles.

WWF statement on the death of Rakotoarisoa Henri
We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Rakotoarisoa Henri, president of VOI MIALO. We express our condolences to the family of the deceased, his relatives, friends and colleagues at this painful time.
Rakotoarisoa Henri, a fervent defender of the environment, was murdered during the night of 2 to 3 June in Antsampandrano, Fokontany Ankazondandy, Commune Ambanivohitra Mangarivotra (formerly Beparasy). For the past two years, he has been a volunteer and a whistleblower on pressures in Ankazondandy : from illegal logging of precious wood to deforestation. Whistleblowers are often victims of reprisals, threats and intimidation of all kinds. We hope that the investigation into this murder will be completed and that justice will be done, in strict accordance with the law.
Rest in peace Mr Rakotoarisoa Henri. May your death not be in vain, may conservation efforts continue for the biodiversity of our country and may our politicians seriously consider the case of those who work heart and soul for the protection of our natural resources.
