Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar. Major Function:
T
he Senior Forest Officer provides thought leadership and strategic orientation on policy and advocacy and provides technical support to landscape programme teams in the areas of Fuelwood & Alternatives, REDD+ and Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR).
What you need:
Required Qualifications and experiences
A minimum of masters in forestry or environmental management related area ; A minimum of 7 years’ experiences in leading and implementing projects and programmes ;
Good understanding of forest policy and institutional frameworks in Madagascar and East Africa region.
Proven experience in forestry management, reforestation, administration collaboration, capacity building of communities, collaboration with private sector;
Excellent written and oral communications skills, fluency in Malagasy, French and English languages ;
Excellent computer knowledge (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail…).
Skills and abilities
Excellent organisational and prioritisation competence ; Strong leadership, management and negotiation skills;
Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work independently ;
Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills ;
