Access to energy also requires the personal development of women

In a country's struggle to gain access to development including electrification, it is important to choose an intelligent approach; that is, a sustainable, ecological, economic development process.

Barefoot College, a national sustainable energy access program, has already trained more than 70 women to be solar engineers. They have brought solar light to more than 3,500 households since its inception.  But becoming a development actor by being a solar engineer requires first of all a personal development of these more than 70 women. The future solar engineers registered and entering the training center Barefoot College in Ambatomainty, Commune Tsiafajavona, Ambatolampy, also follow the program "Enrich" which supports the personal development of these women
